Journals

The library subscribes to a variety of academic journals, both online and print format, within the fields of anthropology, history, and Native American studies. Titles currrently received are listed below, some with online access. Journal issues do not circulate, but the library has a self-serve copy machine that will print or scan to USB.

Periodical Holdings List (PDF) The library’s periodical holdings contain over 300 titles dating from the late nineteenth century to the present, including journals, reports, bulletins, newsletters, society papers, and conference proceedings. Periodicals in storage will be retrieved by the librarian upon request.

Anthrosource (on campus only) with full access to 30+ journals published by the American Anthropological Association (AAA).

Article indexing databases are not available through the library due to high cost and because most of our resident fellows have access through their university affiliations. Independent researchers can use websites such as WorldCat and JSTOR and Project MUSE to search for article citations, and then obtain articles from the library’s print holdings. NM state residents have open access to scholarly articles in Gale Academic OneFile through the El Portal databases provided by the New Mexico State Library.
