Kenneth will be discussing subject matter featured in his artwork such the Ivory Billed Woodpecker, Turtle, Dragonfly, and Songs of the Fourth World necklace.

This event is free and open to members of the President’s Circle and Legacy Circle. Please RSVP to Lindsay Archuleta at archuleta@sarsf.org and she will send you the instructions to join via Zoom. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today.

Kenneth Johnson is a contemporary Muscogee/Seminole jeweler and bronze sculptor living in Santa Fe. He transforms copper, silver, gold, platinum, and palladium into wearable art in his downtown Santa Fe studio. Johnson’s work was worn on numerous red carpet events including the Grammys, Spirit Awards, American Film Institute, and Critics Choice Awards by Reservoir Dog’s director Sterlin Harjo who rocked different styles of the signature silver Woodpecker gorget necklaces while presenting awards. He has created custom jewelry for notables such as U.S. Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonja Sotomayor, Canadian Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin, and British House of Lords Baroness Emma Nicholson.

In addition to appointments at his downtown studio, Johnson participates at the annual Santa Fe Indian Market and Heard Museum show and is represented at Manitou Gallery. In past years at the Heard Museum art competition, he took 1st place in Bracelets and 2nd place in Jewelry and Lapidary Work for a 24K Gold & Landers turquoise necklace and most recently, took home the prestigious 2022 Heard Museum Guild Commemorative Award for his Ivory-Billed Woodpecker Mokume Gane Gorget.
