Susan B. Bruning earned a B.A., B.B.A., and J.D. from Southern Methodist University and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology. The Bruning Law Firm, PC specializes in contract, copyright, trademark, licensing, corporate, and cultural/intellectual property acquisition, protection, use, and disposition matters. The firm works primarily in the fields of entertainment, fine arts, antiquities, and cultural heritage. In addition to her law practice, Susan is also an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University and Wesleyan University School of Law. She has presented papers, organized symposia, and published on subjects relating to repatriation, the ethics of antiquities collecting, and the illicit art trade, among others.

Ms. Bruning has served on the boards of a number of organizations including City of Southlake Public Arts Advisory Committee; Chair, Apex Arts League; Co-Founder and Executive Board Member, State Bar of Texas, Legal Aspects of the Arts Committee; appointed member, Entertainment and Sports Law Section, State Bar of Texas; Member of Council of Directors, Secretary and Treasurer, Sports and Entertainment Law Section, Dallas Bar Association; Council Member, Texas Sculpture Association; Member of the Board of Directors; Chair, 1990 national juried sculpture exhibition, The Dallas Center for Contemporary Art; Member of Board of Directors, Dallas Business Committee for the Arts; Leadership Arts Institute alumna and frequent speaker at subsequent Institutes; Applied Graphic Design Technologies Department, Collin County Community College District; Advisory Board Member, North Texas Legal Services for the Poor; and volunteer attorney.

Susan and her husband Jim have three children and reside in Southlake, Texas.
