Rollin W. King was the Founder and First Chairman and President of Southwest Airlines Co., Dallas, TX. He was a member of the Board and Executive Committee from the formation of the company until he retired from the Board after 40 years in May 2006 at age 75.

He is a Life Member of the Board of Managers and an Honorary Fellow of the School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Past business activities include lecturer and consultant on Building Customer-Focused Organizations; Managing Director, Russell Reynolds Associates, Inc., Worldwide Executive Recruiting; Partner, King, Pitman and Company; and employee, National Security Agency, Washington, D.C.

Past not-for-profit activities include Trustee, Dallas Symphony; Trustee, St. John’s College, Annapolis, Maryland and Santa Fe, New Mexico; Trustee and member of Executive Committee, Dallas Museum of Art; President of the Board, Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Chairman and Chair of the Executive Committee of the College of Santa Fe.

He received his B.A. from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio in 1955 and his M.B.A. from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1962.

He lives in Dallas and has homes in California and Wyoming.
