Short Seminar Applications
Any scholar wishing to organize a short seminar should send six copies of a proposal no more than six pages long, typed double-spaced, to the School at the address given below. The proposal should describe the purpose of the seminar, the topic to be addressed, its importance, and the proposed participants (no more than 10 total). The proposal must also describe the expected results of the seminar and articulate a plan for disseminating these results, such as an edited volume, a professional conference, or an article in a professional newsletter or journal. Seminar proposals must indicate what funds will be provided by the applicant to offset the costs of the seminar, including for participant travel. Also required is a copy of the applicant’s curriculum vitae, not to exceed four pages.
Each copy of the application must include:
- Short Seminar Cover Sheet (447 KB)
- Abstract, of no more than 150 words
- Proposal, not to exceed six double-spaced pages, addressing the criteria listed above
- Short Bibliography, not to exceed one page, of references cited in the proposals
- Curriculum vitae, not to exceed four pages, for the applicant/s
Proposals will be accepted at any time but will be reviewed twice each year, with deadlines of September 1st and March 1st. Applicants will be notified of the School’s decision within two months of the review. Short seminars are generally scheduled 9–12 months in advance.
