SARweb 2.0 Unveiled
SAR’s completely redesigned website was launched on May 1, 2009. Two years later, and after having earned a prestigious “Outstanding Achievement” award from Interactive Media Awards, SARweb is sporting a new look.
Since its launch, SARweb has become an important presence on the Internet and a valuable form of public outreach for SAR. The website now features more than 3,700 pages and has been visited almost 175,000 times, representing over 638,000 page views. Popular sections include Scholar Programs and the Indian Arts Research Center (IARC), while SAR Press publications can now be purchased from anywhere within SARweb. Educational features such as Southwest Crossroads and IARC’s Online Exhibitions are reaching wide audiences, while more and more of our lectures are being posted online for access anywhere in the world. This may explain why 25% of the visitors to SARweb are from outside of the United States, with India, Germany, Brazil, and Mexico especially well represented.
As SARweb enters its third year, not only has the design been updated, but visitors should expect exciting new content, including a new set of Online Exhibitions to be launched later this month and new material added to Southwest Crossroads. Stay tuned for even more in years to come.
