In gratitude for your support of the School for Advanced Research, please join us for this free event that honors your membership...
Adriel Heisey photographed the Rio Grande from his homebuilt airplane over a span of ten years, flying every mile of the Great River from its beginnings on the Continental Divide in Colorado to its end at the southern tip of Texas in the Gulf of Mexico. This multimedia program features photographs that his efforts produced, including many that do not appear in his new book, The Rio Grande: An Eagle’s View, and have never been seen by the public.
For the SAR member audience, Adriel will give special attention to traces of human presence that are evident from the air along and near the river, offering an unusual and fascinating journey through landscape, time, and human history.
This event is free, a token of our gratitude for your support of SAR. However, registration is required. Seating for this special members-only event is limited to 75 people, so reserve your place early by calling the SAR membership office at (505) 954-7203.
