New Books by SAR Alums Published

Janes, Making DisastersCraig R. Janes, 2011-2012 Henry Luce Foundation Resident Scholar, has just published his latest book with SAR Press. The book is titled, Making Disasters: Climate Change, Neoliberal Governance, and Livelihood Insecurity on the Mongolian Steppe, which Janes worked on while in residence at SAR.


Mathews and Burke, Book coverSAR Seminar alumnae, Holly F. Mathews and Nancy J. Burke, announce the publication of Anthropologies of Cancer in Transnational Worlds. Contributors to this volume explore the transnational movement of health information, technologies, and people across borders. In addition, they look at the moral and ethical considerations of cancer treatment and research.

Julie M. Weise and her book, Corazón de Dixie2011-2012 Weatherhead Fellow, Julie M. Weise, published Corazón de Dixie: Mexicanos in the U.S. South since 1910, as part of the David J. Weber Series in the New Borderlands History. Dr. Weise worked on completing the manuscript while here on campus at SAR. The book also features a companion website, corazondedixie.org, with primary sources for teaching.
