Ethel-Jane Westfeldt Bunting Summer Scholar
Cultural Protocols in Santa Fe’s American Indian Art and Media Worlds
Dr. Dowell's research examines how global media technologies are appropriated and transformed to meet the needs of local indigenous communities, especially those living in urban areas. While her earlier dissertation work focused on urban First Nations filmmakers in Canada, her Summer Scholar work at SAR launched a new project on Native media and art in the United States.
