Ann Morton, a native Oklahoman, received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma, and an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School University, New York City. She has a minor in French and has pursued language studies in France and Mexico.

Her professional background is in public relations, communications, advertising, marketing, writing, and design. She has been an active volunteer in Houston, Atlanta, Santa Fe, New York City, and Fort Worth, including 28 years with the Junior League, and serves as a docent at The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth and Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe. She was Founder and first President of the National Charity League Buckhead Chapter in Atlanta. Her other activities include art, cultural and archeology programs, and leadership with several capital/development projects for private educational institutions. She has wide interests and enjoys reading, art, photography, hiking, writing, and travel.

She is married to R. Russell Morton and they have three children.
