Librarian, Catherine McElvain Library
Laura has her B.A. and M.L.S. from the University of Denver. She retired in 2002 from the Museum of New Mexico after 25 years as librarian for the Laboratory of Anthropology. During her tenure, she developed a respected collection of Southwest anthropology and created a computerized catalog and specialized databases to provide systematic access to the information.
She completed the Modern Archives course in archives and records management under a grant from the New Mexico Historical Records Advisory Board, which is important in managing the SAR records and archival collections in the Catherine McElvain Library.
Laura is also a book indexer with a specialty in Southwest and anthropological publications.
