Since Thomas Edison’s film crew stopped at Isleta Pueblo in 1897 and filmed a one-minute loop segment, movie-making in New Mexico has been a constant. The state’s film history includes nearly 700 feature films, television episodes, and made for cable/TV movies.

New Mexico film historian Jeff Berg has put together a series of film clips made up of some of these movies and television shows. He will show movie snippets that include stops in Raton with John Wayne, at Carlsbad Caverns to see the “cyclotron” at work, and at Las Vegas, NM, for a 1912 boxing match between Joe Louis and Jack Johnson.
