What’s Inside Your Recipe Box?
Enter a chance to win a free SAR membership and SAR Press’s Sustaining Thought, Thirty Years of Cookery at SAR. Post your favorite recipe on SAR’s Facebook page and you’re automatically entered in our drawing.
Soul Food, our annual review for 2012, considered the complex hungers of our bodies, minds, and souls and included some favorite recipes from James Brooks, SAR president; Leslie Shipman, director of guest services; and Carla Tozcano, guest services assistant. If you missed the annual review, visit 2011-2012 Annual Review: Soul Food. There is a link to Recipes at the bottom of the left-hand column. If you haven’t already, try them out and also share your favorite body-and-soul nourishing recipes for a chance to win.
The contest winner will be treated to a free one-year SAR membership (Arroyo Hondo level) and a complimentary copy of Sustaining Thought, Thirty Years of Cookery at SAR. SAR membership entitles you to free admission to lectures and tours of our campus and the vaults of the Indian Arts Research Center, home to over 12,000 Native Southwest pottery, basketry, textiles, paintings, and jewelry. In addition to mailings about upcoming events, membership provides a 20% discount on SAR Press books and loan privileges at our library on campus. The SAR Press cookbook, Sustaining Thought, includes some of our resident scholars’ and presenters’ favorite meals for breakfasts, lunches, and dinners created by our guest services staff. Shaped around the seasons of our academic year, the recipes are designed to take advantage of the best fresh foods of each season.
Recipes can be submitted only on SAR’s Facebook page and you must have a Facebook account in order to post. Submit as many entries as you like. The winner will be selected at random and notified by e-mail or Facebook message.
