SAR alumnus Eduardo Kohn’s book How Forests Think: Toward an Anthropology Beyond the Human (University of California Press 2013) was reviewed recently in “The Times Literary Supplement”. Kohn completed his dissertation, which formed the foundation for this book, at SAR during a resident fellowship in 2001. Barbara King, the author of Kohn’s book review, is also an SAR alumna. She was a resident scholar in 1987 and edited an SAR Press volume titled The Origins of Language: What Nonhuman Primates Can Tell Us (published in 1999).
