The executive assistant to the president will support the president’s office by maintaining the president's sensitive and confidential information; overseeing events in the SAR boardroom; keeping others informed of president’s needs; serving refreshments or occasional meals in the president’s office; approving division’s purchases; and maintaining the School’s books of minutes and other official documents. He or she will support the vice president for development by maintaining the vice president's files, including sensitive and confidential information; maintaining the division’s annual calendar; maintaining the monthly reports to the board and other department tracking; overseeing purchasing and sending special-occasion acknowledgements; and overseeing the annual greeting card mailing. He or she will also support the chair of the Board of Directors by providing administrative support as needed.
Candidate qualifications include: bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position, or the equivalent in work experience; excellent computer and writing skills within the MS Office platform; familiarity with using donor databases such as Raiser’s Edge; strong sense of discretion, diplomacy, commitment, initiative, and responsibility. Must be detail oriented and well organized; ability to produce work of the highest quality with respect to grammar, spelling, and factual accuracy; good leadership ability; capacity to work with a variety of individuals including members of the board, members of the School, as well as staff and resident fellows; ability to anticipate needs of the president and provide support as needed. Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as the School’s schedule dictates.
