Membership Lecture, The New Mexico History Museum Auditorium
Thursday, February 9, 2012, 6:30–7:30 pm, FREE for SAR members • $10 for non-members
No subject provokes as much curiosity, argument, and dogma as the origin of humans. Dr. Dean Falk compares two momentous discoveries—the famous Taung fossil in 1925 and the remains of Homo floresiensis in 2004, also known as the “Hobbit” people—to illustrate the twists, turns, competition, and passions that have always characterized research on human origins.
