Captives and the Creation of Power

Captives were a common category of migrant both historically and prehistorically. Although they occupied the lowest rung on the social ladder, they made significant contributions to the societies they joined. Willingly provided or not, captives’ contributions to the creation of power were an important aspect of human cultural development.
