Filmmaker Melissa Henry (Navajo) has been working on pre-production for her upcoming film Black Cat in Space (working title), a story about Captain Meow, his robot CuAl6, and their starship Space Coyote, who travel across the galaxy to stop the vengeful Hiss, Devourer of Worlds. Join the School for Advanced Research on May 29 to hear about Melissa’s work and watch an animatic preview of the film, which she created at SAR as the 2013 Eric and Barbara Dobkin Native Artist Fellow. The evening will conclude with a visit to the Dubin Studio to see her hand-drawn storyboards and character designs.
